Gold prices declined during trading on Thursday, affected by the rise of the US dollar, as investors await the release of the US non-farm payrolls report, which is a crucial factor in determining the direction of the Federal Reserve's monetary policy in the coming period.
Gold prices fell 0.3% in spot trading to around $4,440 an ounce, retreating from their highest level in more than a week, while US gold futures for February delivery fell by a similar percentage, amid profit-taking and cautious market movements.
