Gold prices saw limited upward movement during trading on Thursday, July 10, driven by rising trade tensions after US President Donald Trump announced new tariffs. A stronger US dollar limited the yellow metal's gains.

Spot gold rose 0.1% to $3,317.44 per ounce by 17:50 GMT, while US gold futures rose a similar percentage to settle at $3,325.7 .

This fragile rise comes amid heightened global concerns after Washington announced a 50% tariff on copper imports from several countries, including Brazil and three Arab states. This has revived fears of an escalating trade war that could threaten the stability of the global economy.
